Project Description Danforth Bike Line
Meet at SW corner of Greenwood and Danforth
(The Beer Store)
A Danforth bike lane is the dream of many east end Torontonians, as the major arterial road is congested with both moving and parked cars. For the duration of the Art of the Danforth Festival, cyclists will leave their mark on the Danforth, creating a temporary bike lane in the process for their fellow commuters.
Participate in three easy steps:
1. Select a bottle of liquid chalk, and place it in your bicycle’s bottle cage.
2. Begin at any point on the Danforth. Start peddling when liquid chalk flows freely from the bottle.
3. Bike until you are out of liquid chalk, and then return the empty bottle to the Danforth Mosaic BIA office (692 Coxwell Ave), so that it may be refilled and reused.
Prefer safety in numbers?
Group rides will take place on the following Sundays: May 27, June 3, and June 10. Chalk bottles will be distributed at the south west corner of Greenwood and Danforth (The Beer Store parking lot) at 1:00 pm. Once bottles have been secured, the group will be led on a circuit of the Danforth from Greenwood to Woodbine, and back again, until everyone’s chalk supply is spent.
